I know, nobody likes to part with their hard earned money and I normally don't concern myself with fundraisers but I'm making an exception this year. Every year the Audubon Society holds an all-night event, a 12 hour marathon of birding they call Bird-a-Thon in which each center competes for spotting the most bird species. This is an event for kids but also for bird lovers of all ages and the money goes to the Audubon Society, a national non-profit organization responsible for countless nature reserves and camps.
